Fault Finding
Tripping breakers, no power or a circuit that's stopped working? Traced methodically and fixed safely.
Finding the Real Cause
Electrical faults can be frustrating, especially intermittent ones. With around 40 years' experience and proper test equipment, Sean tracks down the root cause instead of guessing, so the problem stays fixed.
Common Faults We Fix
- RCD or breaker keeps tripping
- No power to part or all of the house
- Sockets or lights not working
- Flickering or dimming lights
- Burning smells, buzzing or scorch marks
- Faulty appliances tripping the power
- Water ingress affecting outdoor circuits
Stay Safe
If you notice burning smells, smoke, sparking or hot sockets, switch off at the consumer unit if it's safe to do so, and don't use the circuit until it has been checked.
Common Questions
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Often it's a faulty appliance, moisture in an outdoor circuit or damaged cable. Unplugging appliances one at a time can help narrow it down, but a persistent trip needs proper insulation resistance testing.
Can you fix it on the same visit?
In most cases, yes. If parts are needed, the circuit will be made safe first.
